The Division of Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of neuroblastoma and other pediatric solid malignancies. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and be board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric hematology/oncology.
Teaching responsibilities may include didactic and clinical instruction of medical students, residents, post-doctoral fellows, instructors, and/or clinical research assistants and educational liaison with advanced practice providers.
Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient and inpatient care focused on children, adolescents, and young adults with relapsed neuroblastoma and childhood solid tumors at CHOP and active involvement in fellowship training and mentoring. The ideal candidate will have experience in early phase clinical trials of precision medicine therapeutics including immunotherapies for children with relapsed/refractory or high-risk neuroblastoma and other solid malignancies.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include expanding translational and clinical research efforts in pediatric solid tumors with a focus on neuroblastoma. Preferred applicants will have an established record of peer-reviewed scholarship and extramural grant funding. The successful candidate is expected to be academically productive, collaborative, and able to expand our already robust research enterprise. It is expected that >50% independent research effort funding will be secured within three years of appointment.
