Coordinator of Fraternity/Sorority Development
JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Student Activities (DSA) at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, announces the opening of two full-time positions of Student Services Program Coordinator (P3). This position plans, coordinates, and executes multiple initiatives related to the advisement, education, and support of the University’s fraternities and sororities and their chapter operations. This position works closely with fraternity and sorority students, councils, campus partners, and community stakeholders to support organizational accountability and student development and assists with internal and external responses and communications involving the fraternity and sorority community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position works under the supervision of the Associate Director for Student Activities/Director of the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Development (CFSD) and/or Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Development. The role(s) support programs, services, and initiatives related to fraternity and sorority life and contributes to the department’s mission through the application of policies, procedures, and values development and delivery of student-centered programs and services.
- Assist withthe planning, development,implementation and evaluation of leadership, educational, and riskpreventioninitiativesformembers ofthefraternityandsorority community, including required trainings for the organization,councilofficersand members.
- Serve asaprimary advisor for one governing council,determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and interests.
- Advisefraternityandsororitystudents and organizational accountability, self-governance, shared standards, andrelated topics thatsupport student development.
- Hire, train, supervise, and support undergraduateand graduatestudents in their professional development viaregularmeetings, oversight of responsibilities, and coaching.
- Actively keep abreast of national and international fraternity and sorority policies, trends,and emerging issues, andassistwiththeinterpretation and application of institutional policy and practices.
- Plan, coordinate, implement and provide on-site supervision of events/programsrelated to fraternity and sorority life.
- Assistin the collection and analysis of program evaluation/assessment data and the proposal of recommendationsfor program and service improvement.
- Collaborate with campus partners to support student engagement, belonging, leadership development, and holistic student success within the fraternity and sorority community.
- Serve on Universityanddepartmentalcommittees and attenddepartment staff meetings asrequired.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree ANDfouryears of related experienceinstudent leadership development/educational programs,fraternity and sorority life, student conduct, preventioneducationor related areas.
- Knowledge ofand/orexperiencefacilitatingeducational, leadership, and/or student development initiatives.
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities,programs,and operational responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience advising and/or supervising college students.
- Demonstratedability to work effectively with diverse populations and foster inclusive student-centered environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in StudentAffairs, Student Counseling orrelatedfield.
- Membership in an inter/national fraternity or sorority.
- Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management.
- Experiencedeveloping collaborative relationships with campus and community stakeholders.
- Experiencewith assessment, program evaluation, and/or data-informed program improvement.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a full-time, permanent position with an expected salary range of $62,000 to $74,000. The University offers a competitive salary, and outstanding benefits, including employee and dependent tuition waivers at UConn, and a highly desirable work environment.
