Student Legal Services, Inc. (SLS) seeks a Staff Attorney for its Wright State University location.

SLS is a non-profit law office that contracts with universities in Ohio to provide legal services to university students. Our mission is to remove barriers to academic success by providing access to high-quality legal advice, representation, education, and resources. Position Summary:
The Attorney provides legal advice and representation for various matters including criminal misdemeanors, traffic offenses, landlord-tenant, family law, consumer, contract disputes, contract review and drafting, debt collection/credit reporting, simple estate planning, and more. The position involves regular practice and court appearances in surrounding courts, as well as participation in student outreach and educational programming.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must be licensed to practice law in Ohio. Members of the Class of 2026 are invited to apply if sitting for the Ohio July 2026 Bar Examination. Bar passage is required for continuation of the position and if the candidate does not pass, the position may be terminated.
Work Schedule and Location:
This is a full time, in person position based in our Wright State SLS office, 3640 Colonel Glenn Hwy, 022 Student Union, Dayton, Ohio. Standard business hours are in-office, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for outreach events.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range: Up to $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Competitive benefits package including health and dental insurance, retirement match, generous paid leave package, paid bar registration and continued legal education, and paid parking. SLS, Inc. qualifies as a non-profit organization for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
