Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, or must be Board-Eligible.
Teaching responsibilities may include participating in the clinical education of medical students, residents and fellows as a member of the Division of Emergency Medicine. Mentoring of trainees (including fellows and graduate students) in area of applicant's interest. Mentoring of postdoctoral fellows, students, and fellows and supervision of research staff.
Clinical responsibilities may include providing direct patient care in an Emergency Department that has an annual volume of 100,000 visits. Clinical employment opportunities in Pediatric Emergency Medicine are also being offered at both our clinical affiliate institutions, Virtua Voorhees, in Southern New Jersey and our new King of Prussia Pediatric Hospital in King of Prussia, PA which is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2021.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include knowledge of current ED studies and participate in patient enrollment, as needed. Additional research responsibilities include establishing a portfolio of collaborative and independent research related to identified field of interest within Pediatric Emergency Medicine, serving as primary author and co-author for reports and manuscripts, serving as principal investigator and co-investigator on federal, state, and foundation grant efforts.
