













Description
The National Rural Health Research Center seeks an accomplished and visionary Program Director to lead our dynamic team in the planning, execution, and management of the Delta Region Community Health Systems Development (DRCHSD) Program. The ideal candidate will bring an abundance of rural health experience, strategic thinking, and a proven track record of success in program development, management, and implementation. This is a fully remote position and the successful candidate will reside in one of the eight Delta Region states(Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee) or have significant work experience in the region.
Since 2017, the Delta Region Community Health Systems Development (DRCHSD) Program — funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Federal Office of Rural Health Policy, in partnership with the Delta Regional Authority, and administered by the National Rural Health Resource Center — has worked to maintain the stability of the region’s health care organizations, ensuring rural residents have much-needed access to care.
The Program Director will:
- Provide oversight of planning, development, and execution of Program work plans with measurable objectives and deliverables across the Program goal areas, and coordinate provision of services among DRCHSD Teams to maximize resources to selected health care organizations (HCOs)
- Lead DRCHSD Leadership and Management Teams (DLT / DMT)
- Provide oversight of Program budget and reporting, federal responses, and proposals
- Direct planning, development, and execution of new Program Technical Assistance (TA) services and program improvements
- Oversee and participate in Program communications to promote benefits of participation (requires frequent travel)
- Provide oversight of DRHCSD TA contracts to ensure provision of services fulfil program purpose and goals
- Oversee program eligibility, application, and selection processes
- Support Center leadership team in fulfilling strategic initiatives

Requirements
Education and Experience
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, health education, public administration, business, or related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- Fellowship certification by American College of Healthcare Executives preferred
- Minimum five years of experience in health care delivery, health planning, hospital management, marketing, community development, network development or related areas
- Proven experience in program management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
