Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA) seeks a Digital Communications Specialist to manage the organization’s digital media strategies, content, and communications. This is a high ownership role for a proactive, organized communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values a high-volume workload, and takes initiative to move work forward with clarity and follow-through. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the organization achieves its mission to bring Arizonans together to create a stronger and brighter future for the state.
The Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for curating, developing, deploying, measuring, and optimizing social media, email, and web content and strategies for all CFA initiatives and programs. This role will involve using data to tell stories about The Arizona We Want and CFA’s impact. This position reports to the Manager, Marketing & Communications and works collaboratively with CFA colleagues across teams and subject matter experts, as well as visual/creative professionals contracted by CFA.
The ideal candidate has:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and effectively for a brand and a willingness to receive feedback and coaching.
- Experience creating content for social media across multiple platforms, with an understanding of how to tailor voice and messaging for different audiences and channels.
- Familiarity with planning and drafting email content, including an understanding of structure, tone, and process.
- Basic experience coordinating web content, including formatting in a CMS, checking for quality, and following content guidelines.
- Proactive, resourceful, and self-managing, with the ability to move work forward independently, meet deadlines, and ask for input when needed.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of juggling multiple deliverables and timelines.
- Energized by a fast-paced, high-volume workload and sees it as an opportunity to contribute, take ownership, and make an impact.
Essential Duties
- Researches, develops, writes, and executes content-driven social media strategies and email communication campaigns within the CFA brand identity tone and voice, and with editorial consistency.
- Maintains social media and email content calendar with input and oversight.
- Analyzes social media and web analytics; helps generate performance reports.
- Provides additional support with digital communications across website, events, and presentations or similar collateral as needed.
- Brainstorms new ideas and creative ways to bring CFA’s impact to life for social media and email campaigns. Engages with CFA program staff to source content with an eye for creativity and visual design.
- Researches trends and innovations in digital marketing and makes recommendations to the Manager, Marketing & Communications.
- Manages storage and organization of digital assets.
- Assists with capturing video/audio/photographic content as needed (personally or coordinating with a vendor).
- Supports and attends CFA events to conduct real-time social media promotion and capture stories/updates for communications.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience with Associated Press (AP) writing style and copyediting.
- Experience in developing effective social media and email campaigns, including strategic content planning, scheduling, monitoring, and cross-channel coordination.
- Experience translating data or complex subjects into compelling narratives for social media, emails, and other digital formats.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively manage a high-volume workload across multiple timelines and priorities, while communicating clearly and meeting deadlines.
- Experience co-developing and engaging in deadline-driven review processes.
- Experience working collaboratively with internal partners and creative professionals, including design, video, and web development. Familiarity with Canva or Adobe Suite a plus.
- Experience creating engaging content in online platforms, including, but not limited to, Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn. Comfort with using digital tools and project management systems including but not limited to LinkTree/Bit.ly (or other link management systems), Salesforce Pardot (or other email marketing platforms), Umbraco (or other web content management platforms), Hootsuite/Sprout Social, Google Analytics.
- Experience measuring and reporting on digital campaigns using social media, Google, Hootsuite/Sprout Social, and other analytics tools.
- Experience contributing to cultivating a welcoming, inclusive, and equitable workplace.
