Westover School seeks a full-time, 12-month Associate Director of Admission. This position will report to the Senior Director of Admission & Financial Aid and play a vital role in the school community by engaging and recruiting mission-aligned students who can thrive at Westover School.
Role Description:
Assist in the development and maintenance of the admission team's comprehensive recruitment, marketing and retention plan, promoting Westover School and its general enrollment goals.
Primary commitment is to the recruitment of mission-aligned students:
- Managing assigned recruitment territory
- Setting metrics to assess outcomes
- Research and execute strategies to increase yield from target markets
Domestic travel approximately 50% or more of the time, coordinating with other Westover offices and boarding schools, as appropriate
Cultivate and manage relationships with domestic educational consultants, placement directors, and local feeder schools
Attend and represent Westover at conferences, fairs, and other recruitment opportunities
Interview prospective students and families
Enter all notes, contacts, and communication regarding recruitment travel details and prospective families into the database in a timely manner
Collaborate with communications office on marketing materials for development, maintenance, and execution of the department’s communication plan targeting prospective and admitted students, as well as current students and families
Organization and oversight of the Student Admission Ambassador Program, including coordinating ambassadors for prospective family tours
Collaborate with the admission team to plan and implement all Westover admission events, initiatives, virtual events, visits, and yield activities for prospective students
Collaborate with admission team to plan, implement, and provide support for additional special enrollment and retention-focused events
Requirements
Ability to serve as an excellent spokesperson for the mission and values of Westover
Understanding of market research, demographics, and cultivation strategies
Basic financial skill set, in order to educate caregivers on the financial aid process
Excellent analytical and technological skill including database management. Knowledge of systems such as Blackbaud K-12 will be helpful.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to multitask, be flexible, detail-oriented, and work in a consumer relationship building mindset
This job involves extended periods of travel, sitting, data entry, and computer use, as well as frequent lifting and use of stairs.
Recruitment experience or interest in an independent boarding school is desirable
