Job Title: Director of Finance & HR Administration
Full-Time, Pay Range: $90,000+ based on experience
About the Role: Chateau La Jolla, a family-owned, 55+ senior community, steps from the beach, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Finance & HR Administration to join our leadership team. This dual-role position oversees all accounting, finance, and human resource operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and a culture that supports our residents and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting:
Finance & Accounting
Oversee all financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, budgeting, and reporting.
Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements, present clear summaries to management and ownership.
Maintain compliance with GAAP, local/state/federal regulations, and audit requirements.
Reconcile bank accounts, monitor daily revenue and deposit, and manage cash handling procedures.
Implement and maintain systems of internal control to minimize risk and improve accuracy.
Collaborate with department heads to build and manage annual budgets.
Support billing, vendor management, tax compliance, and general ledger oversight.
Partner with auditors and external professionals to ensure timely and accurate filings.
Human Resources & Administration
Provide leadership and guidance on HR strategy, employee relations, compliance, and policy administration.
Maintain and update personnel policies in alignment with California labor law and industry best practices.
Process bi-weekly payroll, onboarding, offboarding, and employee recordkeeping.
Support department managers in hiring, performance reviews, and training initiatives.
Promote a positive workplace culture through communication, recognition, and accountability.
Partner with management on benefits, wage/salary programs, and staff development opportunities.
Encourage the appropriate and ethical use of technology, including AI tools, to streamline administrative workflows.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR Management, or related field (required).
3–5 years of accounting experience; hospitality or property management experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP, payroll, and HR compliance.
Skilled with AppFolio (or similar program), Excel, and financial reporting systems.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven leadership ability with discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
