The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D and/or Ph.D or equivalent degree. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students and surgical residents.
Clinical responsibilities may include actively leading the lung transplantation program, and all aspects of care for patients undergoing lung transplantation.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical and/or basic science research on topics in the field of lung transplantation.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic and visionary leader in lung transplantation to lead one of the nation's oldest and most active lung transplant programs. The successful candidate will direct all aspects of the program's clinical operations, academic initiatives, and strategic growth, working in close partnership with the Penn Transplant Institute and a multidisciplinary team of renowned transplant surgeons, pulmonologists, and support.
The successful candidate will practice primarily at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. They may also participate in other areas of either cardiac surgery or thoracic surgery as well as mechanical circulatory support and ECMO.
