Make a meaningful impact at Hawai‘i’s only Level I Trauma Center. As a Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) at The Queen’s Medical Center, you’ll be part of a highly skilled surgical team that serves patients from across Hawai‘i and the Pacific Region.
Our nationally recognized surgical program is a leader in robotic and minimally invasive procedures, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to perform complex surgeries. You’ll work alongside expert surgeons, anesthesiologists, Certified Perioperative Nurses (CNOR), Certified Post Anesthesia Nurses (CPAN®), Surgical Technologists, and Nursing Assistants—all dedicated to delivering exceptional care.
As an RNFA, you’ll play a vital role in the operating room, assisting surgeons with tasks such as:
- Controlling bleeding
 - Providing optimal wound exposure
 - Suturing
 - Performing other critical intraoperative functions
 
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Hawai‘i RN license
 - Graduate of a formal First Assist program
 - Active certifications in BLS, ACLS, and CNOR (must be maintained)
 - Minimum of 3 years of perioperative nursing experience
 - Must be able to take call
 - Demonstrated excellence in: 
- Interpersonal and communication skills
 - Flexibility, sound judgment, and adaptability in decision-making
 - Emergency management and team collaboration
 - Maintaining professionalism in high-pressure environments
