Make a meaningful impact at Hawai‘i’s only Level I Trauma Center. As a Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) at The Queen’s Medical Center, you’ll be part of a highly skilled surgical team that serves patients from across Hawai‘i and the Pacific Region.

Our nationally recognized surgical program is a leader in robotic and minimally invasive procedures, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to perform complex surgeries. You’ll work alongside expert surgeons, anesthesiologists, Certified Perioperative Nurses (CNOR), Certified Post Anesthesia Nurses (CPAN®), Surgical Technologists, and Nursing Assistants—all dedicated to delivering exceptional care.

As an RNFA, you’ll play a vital role in the operating room, assisting surgeons with tasks such as:

• Controlling bleeding
• Providing optimal wound exposure
• Suturing
• Performing other critical intraoperative functions

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current Hawai‘i RN license
• Graduate of a formal First Assist program
• Active certifications in BLS, ACLS, and CNOR (must be maintained)
• Minimum of 3 years of perioperative nursing experience
• Must be able to take call
• Demonstrated excellence in:
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility, sound judgment, and adaptability in decision-making
  • Emergency management and team collaboration
  • Maintaining professionalism in high-pressure environments
