Position: Communications & Outreach Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director
Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Salary Range: $22-24 per hour with 37.5 hour work week, with full benefits (health, dental, vision, paid holidays, and generous PTO)
About RSVP of Central Oklahoma
RSVP of Central Oklahoma engages adults age 55+ in meaningful volunteer service that strengthens our community. Through partnerships with more than 50 local nonprofits, our volunteers deliver meals, fight food insecurity, mentor youth, and help older adults remain active and independent.
Position Summary
The Communications & Outreach Coordinator increases awareness of RSVP’s mission and volunteer programs by leading community outreach, volunteer recruitment, and public storytelling efforts. This position plays a vital role in connecting older adults with opportunities to serve, celebrating their impact, and strengthening RSVP’s presence across Oklahoma County.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to recruit and engage new volunteers.
- Represent RSVP at community events, senior fairs, and civic group meetings.
- Manage content for RSVP’s website, newsletter, and social media platforms.
- Create flyers, press releases, and digital materials that promote volunteer opportunities.
- Gather volunteer stories, photos, and impact data for marketing and recognition.
- Support planning and promotion of community service projects and recognition events.
- Build partnerships with local organizations and media outlets to increase public awareness.
- Maintain consistent, mission-focused messaging in all communications.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in outreach, communications, or nonprofit engagement.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in social media management and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe, or similar).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for community service and working with older adults.
Work Environment
This position operates in both office and field settings. Some evening or weekend work may be required for outreach events. Local travel within Oklahoma County is expected.
